Immerse yourself into the colourful history of The Arc de Triomphe and Napoleon’s victories, weave your way through over 1000-years of art at the Louvre and lose yourself in the fairytale Tuileries Gardens. Listen to folkloric tales about the heritage of the Montmartre and the ancient secrets of Palais Garnier.

Majestic Paris Tour Highlights

Itinerary and What to Expect?

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel, residence, or cruise ship and escort you through the frenetic underground and streets of Paris to Montmartre.

Explore Montmartre, a small delightful ‘village’ in the north of the city; it’s well known for its vineyards, windmills and eccentric artist, writer and musician residents who have been attracted by its authentic and creative atmosphere. Discover what was once home to Pablo Picasso and where he painted his masterpiece, Les Demoiselles d’Avignon while you treat yourself to Parisian delights.

Follow in the footsteps of audiences past as you explore the twists and turns of the iconic Palais Garnier. This tour lifts the curtain on one of the premier performance venues in Europe, revealing the hidden, and at times, the surprising history behind the impressive design. Enter through the stately Members’ Rotunda, with its elaborate architecture and grandiose decor, and take centre stage as you ascend the Grand Staircase. Discover the untold secrets that are hidden in the passages of magnificent architecture. Feel the mysteries within The Phantom of the Opera novel inspired by these secrets and rumours.

Continue to the remarkable 1686 King Louis XIV’s Place Vendôme where vast history and some of the most prestigious French haute couture brands can be found. Wander beneath ancient trees in the enchanted Tuileries Gardens that Catherine de’ Medici landscaped over 500 years ago. The gardens are dotted with intricate sculptures. Gain a unique insight into the history of the Louvre, and immerse yourself in world-class culture.

Continue to Musée d’Orsay, with your guide you’ll see some of the most meticulous Impressionist and post-Impressionist masterpieces in the world by artists including Renoir, Manet, Sisley, Gauguin and Seurat. Appreciate some of the finest French nudes and displays of art from 1848 to 1914 within the museum installed into the Orsay Beaux-Arts railway station for the Universal Exhibition of 1900.

Known merely as Notre-Dame. Breathe in the history of the striking medieval Catholic cathedral on the Île de la Cité in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. It is sacred to the Virgin Mary and considered to be one of the most exceptional examples of French Gothic architecture.

Admire the truly magnificent wrought-iron lattice tower that stands over the Champ de Mars at 300m tall. The tower is the most-visited paid monument in the world with almost 7-million visitors annually. It was built to celebrate the centennial of the Revolution and be the centerpiece for the 1889 Exposition Universelle.

Stop at the Place du Trocadéro set on the east bank of the Seine River and affords you spectacular views of the legendary Eiffel Tower. Discover with your guide the paved area enveloped by ornamental gardens that observe the Battle of Trocadéro. Face the hypnotising facade of the most recognisable structure in the world, the Eiffel Tower.

Journey through the fascinating history of star-shaped l’Arc de Triomphe. Commemorate the memories of those lives lost during the brutal French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars, and ponder the identity of the unknown soldier from WWI as you stand respectfully beside his tomb. Climb the steep steps to the top of the monument and catch your breath as you appreciate the spectacular views of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, the Sacré-Coeur and the rest of the bustling city.
